Web optimization as the digital core of institutions.

Year 2023. Post-pandemic period. We are going through and living in a moment where communication is the protagonist of the era of greatest development of social networks and digital platforms.

The narrowing of the digital divide (although we recognize that there are still large differences in Internet access and use) has given people from all over the world and of all ages the possibility of browsing (and also creating content) on hundreds of digital platforms 24/7.

As we anticipated in our article “Living in the networks…”, browsing the Internet is no longer a simple isolated action in our lives, but rather it is another social environment, in this case digital, where people relate to each other, to companies. Digital environments where we live.

That said, anyone who does not participate in this key environment is as if they did not exist.

A very common mistake is to assume that certain areas, due to their characteristics, do not need marketing strategies, much less an optimized website.

It is a widespread belief to associate marketing with e-commerce. This is not like that

So… What functions does an optimized website fulfill in an institution?

1- An optimized institutional website allows you to achieve positioning in Google:

When we are looking for a product or service, the almost instinctive option is to “google” information about what we need, obviously with the aim of getting a response to that need.

The usual favorites to click on are those that, due to their care, organization and clarity, appear among the top 5 searches. And if a company aspires to be part of the podium, it must work on SEO optimization of its content to achieve it.

2- Increases the reliability and credibility of the institution:

It will be useless to appear among the first options on Google if your website is outdated and neglected. An optimized website shows visitors that they are dealing with a serious organization. At this point it is crucial to take care of the user experience, especially usability. A website that does not have a good design and whose content is disorganized will not provide the same reliability and credibility.

3- Boost your marketing strategies:

It is vital that all your marketing actions are directed to an institutional website where they can consult about your company, its history, its work methodology, its trajectory, and the products or services it offers.

4- Improve communication with the public:

A correctly optimized website is the ideal space for your audience to interact with your institution. Options such as allowing them to leave opinions, queries/doubts, contact information, etc., are examples of good practices. It is also super valuable that you can leave all the organization's data, such as address, location, social networks, email, fax, among others.

In summary, web optimization is an essential tool for institutions to achieve visibility, credibility, effective communication and success in a highly connected world. Those who understand the importance of having an optimized website will be in a stronger position to stand out in the digital age (they understand that it is a differentiating value) and connect with their audience in a meaningful way.
