Did you know that at Lab9 we collaborate on the development of a game about a Marvel character?😮

This is Marvel's Spider-Man 2, an action-adventure video game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The game is based, as the title indicates, on the Marvel character, Spider-Man​ and features a narrative inspired by the mythology of the long-running comics while also being derived from several adaptations in other media.

Its launch not only brought with it a new video game full of action and adventure, but also a unique interactive experience: a treasure hunt that invited fans to explore the city and solve challenges to unlock exclusive content.

An exciting challenge.

The idea behind the scavenger hunt was to create an experience that was more than just a promotional event. The aim was to offer an immersive adventure that connected with the story and characters of the game, while challenging participants to test their detective and teamwork skills.

Design and development.

To achieve this goal, a custom application was created from scratch, which had to be easy to use and intuitive, guiding users through each step of the treasure hunt. Additionally, unique QR codes were designed for each destination, allowing participants to scan them and obtain information about the next step.

Animations and user experience (UX).

Detailed animations were a crucial element in improving the user experience. These visually guided participants from their current location to the next destination, providing a clear and attractive representation of the route. In addition, a vertical design was used for the home and onboarding screens, while a horizontal format was chosen for the map, facilitating navigation around the city.

A resounding success😎

This webapp's treasure hunt was a resounding success, attracting thousands of fans who embarked on an exciting adventure through the city. The combination of exploration, challenges and exclusive content created a memorable experience that connected players around the world to the Spider-Man universe in a unique way.
