What you missed from the AI Agents webinar: automation, innovation and the future of companies

Artificial intelligence is no longer a future trend and has become an urgent conversation within companies. What until recently seemed experimental is now beginning to directly impact productivity, decision making, and the way organizations operate every day.

In that context, on Wednesday, April 29, from Academia Lab9 we held a free webinar on AI agents, automation and business innovation, led by our CEO Alejandro Jatib. More than 60 people participated live in a space designed to understand how the business world is changing and what opportunities are beginning to appear for those who adapt first.

Far from remaining solely on technical concepts, the webinar addressed one of the most important topics of 2026: how artificial intelligence is ceasing to be just a tool and becoming a new operational layer within companies.

For years, many organizations used technology to digitize specific tasks. Automate responses, organize information or speed up repetitive processes. But AI agents represent a much deeper change. It is no longer just about executing instructions, but about building systems capable of interpreting context, making simple decisions, coordinating actions and learning from the available information.

That was one of the main axes of the talk. Understand that true transformation does not occur when a company incorporates an isolated tool, but when it begins to redesign its way of operating around new technological capabilities.

Throughout the webinar, different real application scenarios within companies were worked on, showing how artificial intelligence can be integrated into areas such as customer service, operations, information analysis, marketing, commercial automation and internal management.

We also talked about one of the most frequent mistakes that many organizations are making today: incorporating AI without a clear strategy behind it. The pressure to innovate causes many companies to quickly adopt tools without reviewing processes, organizational culture or specific objectives. The result is often fragmentation, low internal adoption and automations that do not generate real impact.

Therefore, much of the focus was on understanding that implementing artificial intelligence does not simply mean using ChatGPT or automating tasks. It means building a different work logic.

Another of the topics that generated the most interest was the concept of intelligent agents connected to each other. Systems capable of collaborating, executing chain actions and resolving complete workflows with minimal human intervention. This model begins to transform the way business productivity is thought about.

However, one of the most important points of the meeting had to do with something much more human than technological: the ability to adapt.

Because the true differential will not only be in who has access to AI tools, but in who manages to better integrate them into their culture, their processes and their decisions.

Today technology is increasingly accessible. The difference appears in how it is used.

During the webinar, the new role of leadership in this context was also discussed. How decision-making changes, how teams evolve and what capabilities are beginning to be more relevant in organizations permeated by automation and artificial intelligence.

The conclusion was clear: the companies that are going to stand out in the coming years will not necessarily be the largest, but rather the fastest to learn, adapt and redesign their way of operating.

At Academia Lab9 we believe that understanding these changes is no longer optional. That is why we generate open spaces where leaders, entrepreneurs and teams can approach new technologies from a strategic, practical perspective applied to real business.

The webinar on April 29 was an example of that. A space to think about how artificial intelligence is transforming companies from within and why this moment represents a huge opportunity for those who decide to evolve before the rest.

Because the future is not just about incorporating technology. It is about learning to build organizations prepared to work alongside it.
